Love From Florence Grace- the radio show!

A little bit of shameless self-promotion never hurt anyone...

I want to tell my wonderful readers about a very exciting opportunity in my life right now! As of January 2015, I will be hosting my own radio show! At present, it is going to be called "The Florence Grace Show" but I am still working on names (have any suggestions? Feel free to leave a comment below or get in touch using the links on my page!)

The show will air on Blink FM every Friday from 3-5pm, and I am hoping to have someone exciting in once a month for an interview- I already have my first interviewee confirmed and I am just awaiting on a date!

For anyone who has read my "About" page, you will know that being a radio presenter is my dream job, and so I am really excited about this! However, I would like one thing from my readers and followers- ideas! So if there's a particular structure you think would work for my show, a name for the show, games to do or songs to play then please do get in touch with me. I am also looking for promoters to promote my show!! In return, I would host an advert for your blog/vlog/business on my own blog for FREE. If you are interested in helping me with this, again, please get in touch with me.

I'm hoping this show will be fabulous and super exciting for both me and for my listeners too! Support from all of my readers and followers would be so appreciated, so I really hope some of you will get in touch and will tune in in the new year- it would really mean the world to me!

Children With Cancer UK Fashion Show!

Friday 27th February 2015 saw the grand event that was a fashion show in London for the fabulous charity, Children with Cancer UK. I was invited to the event about 2 weeks ago as a blogger, to cover the event and raise awareness of the charity. I was honored to have been asked to do so, as the charity is really just so important, as well as super excited to cover a fashion show, as this was something I had never done before! The night was a huge success, and the display of talent was extremely impressive- from the designers work, to the various acts performing in between! #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek - Body Image and Mental Health

This week (13th - 20th May 2019) is Mental Health Awareness Week. This year, the theme is Body Image - how we think and feel about our bodies.  Those of you who have followed me for some time will know that for about two years now, if not more, I have been an advocate for body positivity and self love. More recently, you may have seen me featured in a story in The Metro , talking about a body shaming incident I experienced on holiday and how I dealt with it.  There's absolutely no denying that there is a direct correlation between body image and our mental health. I know that personally, when I'm experiencing a "bad body day" and don't feel very positively about my body, for whatever reason, my mental health goes down the drain too. Yet when we feel good about our bodies, this can be reflected in our mental health too.  When I experienced body shaming in my bikini on holiday, I felt the lowest I had in a while. Eating Disorders- the Blunt Truth.

WARNING:  The following content is sensitive and me be triggering to those suffering from, recovering from or who have recovered from eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia and other health problems such as depression. As I sit down in my local pub ready to tuck into my generous portion of gammon and chips, I feel a prickle on the back of my neck- that all to familiar feeling of knowing that someone is staring at you. As I whip my head around the dining area, my eyes fall on the slender figure of a girl, probably around my age, maybe a few years younger, looking at me with disgust in her eyes- disgust clearly at the way I look and what I'm eating. I feel fat, bulky, uncomfortable and I let my glance fall to her own plate, noticing she has a salad, mostly untouched. She sips constantly at her water like it's the only thing keeping her alive.
